Videosoft Global

Live video when every kilobit counts.

Software that keeps live video flowing.

Videosoft specialises in high-quality, low-latency live video transmission for unmanned systems, autonomous operations and other demanding applications, using ultra-low bandwidth with streaming rates as low as 1 kbps to provide a reliable operational picture even from remote and bandwidth-constrained locations.

Videosoft’s advanced live video compression and transmission technology can be deployed on UAS, UAVs, UGVs, USVs, AUVs, cameras, vehicles, vessels, command centres and other operational platforms.

The technology automatically adapts to fluctuations in connectivity to maintain reliable real-time transmission over cellular networks, satellite communications, radio links, mesh networks and other wireless or wired networks, even when the available bandwidth is extremely limited.

Why Videosoft?
Live video transmission even with extremely limited bandwidth
Very low latency for operational use
Integration with existing UAS, UAVs, UGVs, USVs, AUVs, cameras and C2 systems
Operation over satcom, LTE/5G, mesh, microwave and radio networks
Available as software, plug-and-play encoder, embedded technology or a complete turnkey solution

Videosoft offers its technology in different ways, depending on the requirements of each organisation:

Standalone software   •   Complete hardware-and-software appliances   •   Technology embedded into third-party products and systems   •   Fully customised turnkey solutions

It can also be integrated into existing platforms and infrastructure, without requiring the replacement of current equipment. The technology is lightweight and easy to deploy and can operate on off-the-shelf hardware without the need for specialist processors.

The operational problem

When conventional networks are not enough

In remote areas, at sea, across mountainous terrain, during natural disasters or wherever communications networks become heavily congested, conventional video transmission can slow down, freeze or stop completely.

FireLight™ dynamically adapts the bitrate, resolution and frame rate to the capacity and quality of the available connection.

At the same time, the original video can be recorded locally at high quality for later retrieval.

Adaptive streaming range
1 kbps multi-Mbps

The platform is designed to maintain a useful visual stream as available bandwidth falls, and to increase quality again when network conditions allow.

1 kbps does not mean continuous Full HD transmission. Final image quality, resolution, latency and frame rate depend on the source, available network, configuration and operational priorities.

How the FireLight™ architecture works

FireLight™ is adaptive compression and transmission software, designed for live remote video streaming in demanding environments with limited bandwidth.

It can transmit video, audio and operational data in real time, from extremely low bitrates through to multi-Mbps, over satellite, cellular, mesh and radio networks.

Common operational picture

Information from the field reaches where the decision needs to be made

Videosoft can provide the visual connection between video sources at the edge and authorised users in an Operations Centre, without forcing the organisation to use one specific type of camera or communications network.

Full detail when it really matters

When a live stream is transmitted at reduced quality because bandwidth is limited, an authorised user can select a specific area of interest or an entire frame and request high-resolution pixels from the original source or edge recording.

Retrieve a specific area of interest.
Retrieve a complete high-resolution frame.
Use with live viewing or previously recorded material.
Obtain visual confirmation without continuously transmitting the complete stream in HD.
